11/20/2015 Is The Best For Women In Film & TV, Also We Lost The WW

November 20, 2015, is shaping up to be the best for women. Can someone say “Girl Power,” better yet “Women Power.”

After a near five year hiatus from the music spotlight – a surgery and raising a child – the crossover artist Adele will be dropping her newest album titled “25.” Her single “Hello” has remained No. 1 on iTunes for one month since it debuted on Oct. 20. Adele’s single proves her sustainability, but the album itself might be bigger than ever.

In addition to the power house of Adele, the last film installment of “The Hunger Games” trilogy, “Mocking Jay Part 2” is expected to be a box office juggernaut. The film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Haroldson, and Josh Hutcherson, just to name a few. Lawrence’s Katniss and the resistance will try to get at President Snow – played by Donald Sutherland – one last time. Who will win? Read the three books on which the film trilogy is based on in order to find out, or just watch the saga end on the big screen.

Also on the big screen, there is a murder mystery, and an unrequited and forbidden love story. “Secrets in their Eyes” stars Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman, and Chiwetel Ejiofor as all three try to catch a killer who has been released due to lack of evidence. The twist is that Roberts’ character is an FBI agent whose daughter was murdered by the aforementioned killer.

“Secrets in their Eyes” is based off the Oscar winning Foreign Language Film “Los secretos en los ojos.” It was hailed as exceptional, this American version might be as good.

The forbidden love story titled “Carol” stars Care Blanchette, Rooney Mara, and Sarah Paulson. In the 1950s, Blanchette, as Carol, is stuck in a loveless marriage until she meets Mara’s Therese who stirs feelings of friendship, and even love. This film has sapphic/same-sex themes.

Meanwhile on the small screen, as in TV, the Marvel/Netflix companion TV series “Jessica Jones” lands with one full season. A few months ago “Daredevil” premiered on the streaming giant with mixed but satisfying reviews. Jones will be played by Krysten Ritter. Ritter starred in “Breaking Bad,” among others. One reviewer has called this “Jessica Jones” superhero as a new kind of hero.

On another streaming giant, “The Man in the High Castle” will also debut on Amazon Prime. The series looks gritty, bold, and it will challenge everyone’s mindset. “The Man in the High Castle,” which is based off a book of the same name, tells the story of “What If the world lost WWI and WWII to the Nazis?” And as a result, what kind of world would we all live in? It stars Rufus Sewell and DJ Qualls among others.

Remember Nov. 20, 2015.
